Description
Founded in 2001 by Spain's Raventos family, Bodega Septima specialises in site-specific Mendoza bottlings that highlight both regional terroir and varietal clarity. The 2022 Lote Especial Malbec comes from a single, meticulously managed plot selected for its optimal altitude and soil composition. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo rigorous sorting before gentle crushing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with an extended maceration to maximise extraction of colour, tannin, and aromatic complexity. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, allowing subtle integration of spice and structure while preserving Malbec's natural vibrancy. In the glass, this special lot reveals dense aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and violet, supported by a hint of mocha from the oak. The palate is plush and concentrated, balanced by fresh acidity and well-knit tannins, with a persistent finish that suggests excellent short-term cellaring potential.
