Description
Magari is the flagship Bordeaux blend of Ca' Marcanda, exemplifying the unique potential of Bolgheri's coastal terroir under the guidance of the Gaja family. Sourced from meticulously farmed vineyards on clay and limestone soils, the blend combines Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, each contributing structure, aromatic complexity and depth. After hand harvest and fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matures for up to 18 months in French oak barriques, integrating fine tannins and enhancing longevity. In the glass, Magari is intensely coloured, with pronounced aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, Mediterranean herbs and subtle tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and structured, featuring layers of black fruit, licorice, balsamic notes and a firm, savoury backbone. The persistent finish and vibrant acidity underscore the wine's ageing potential. Magari pairs well with roasted meats, grilled steak or hearty vegetable dishes, and embodies the refinement and innovation of modern Bolgheri wines.
